Why I Made This Blog

The Christian experience is one of living in two realities. These might be known as Heaven and Earth, or eternity and time, or faith and sight. In order to properly understand not only the theological concepts introduced in the Bible, but how those theological concepts then relate to one’s own journey of faith, one must embrace the existence and activity of these two realities.

The Bible opens with Genesis 1:1 “In the beginning, God created the heavens and the Earth.” This sets the stage for what is to take place throughout the rest of the books from Genesis to Revelation. Heaven and Earth are linked from the beginning, and the story of humanity and indeed all of creation is how these two realities were created, separated, and finally restored together in the person of Jesus Christ. The story centers around humanity for indeed all of existence centers around us as well. The human person is where Heaven and Earth found their linkage. While they were created by the same God at the same time and in the same manner, they have nothing to do with each other until God makes Man. In Man, the physical and spiritual realms coalesce and work together, and all of creation glorifies the One who made it. To understand the Bible, Christianity, and life in general, one must understand this vital connection.
